Kingfisher Bay Resort and I Are A Perfect Match

A few weeks ago my husband and I visited one of our most favourite places in the world, and we’ve been blessed to have visited many places in Australia and the USA over our almost twenty-five years of marriage. Iit didn’t involve plane travel and was just a couple of hours drive up the Bruce Highway from our home in Noosa. A quick 50minute ferry ride across the glorious ocean from Hervey Bay and we arrived at the World Heritage Listed “Fraser Island” with all of its untamed wilderness and natural charm it is truly a haven of beauty unlike anywhere we’ve ever been.

Our destination was the beautiful eco-friendly "Kingfisher Bay Resort" a stunning resort with first class accommodation and amenities. Our room was a King Bay View Resort Room with stunning water views, a king bed and a divine, spacious living space with beautiful inclusions throughout. Our stay included a delicious full buffet breakfast at the “Maheno” restaurant with its poolside location and included eggs, fruit, pastries, juice, and so much more. It was an outstanding array of breakfast delights and kept us going all day. Every night we experienced exquisite sunsets at “The Sunset Bar at the Jetty” and enjoyed memorable moonlight beach walks whilst there.

For our first full day we chose the amazing “Fraser Island Beauty Spots Tour” a day filled with adventure and fun. We were driven around in a comfortable 4WD coach complete with our very informative guide Martin who entertained and shared his vast knowledge about all things Fraser Island.

We saw dingoes, visited the Silent Creek, stopped at magnificent Lake Mackenzie for morning tea and a quick swim, enjoyed a wonderful drive along the eastern side of Fraser Island, stoppped at the "Maheno" shipwreck for some selfies and enjoyed a lovely lunch at Eurong Beach Resort. It all made for a wonderous day we will never forget. Next morning I was treated to a visit to the “Kingfisher Bay Resort Island Day Spa” for a sensational 30mins facial that set the tone for my day of relaxation. It's a gorgeous spa that offers a tranquil environment with all the goodness to unwind and be pampered. It’s a divine sanctuary set amongst the bush to soothe your soul and leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed. After lunch by the pool my husband and I then hiked to the "Fraser Island Lookout". The views were unforgettable and well worth the hour long adventure. We walked back along the beach to the resort and marveled at the beauty all around.

For our final night farewell we had the most sensational dinner at the inhouse “Seabelle” restaurant, an award winning, world class, dining experience. It blends seasonal and locally sourced produce with bush tucker and was sublime! We enjoyed Natural Oysters, Fraser Coast Wild prawns, Darling Downs Grain-Fed Angus, Paperbark Wrapped North Qld Barramundi and shared the signature Seabelle dessert, K’gari Delight. Our dinner was worldclass and a beautiful way to end our amazing stay.

Leaving “Kingfisher Bay Resort and Fraser Island” were extremely difficult but knowing we’ll be back sooner than later made it a little easier. If you visit between August and October you can encounter the Humpback Whales as they visit this area every year. That's a bonus to what is already an extraordinary place. God bless. Kerrie xoxo
